Right to Flight - Art installation

During the summer of 2014, artist and writer James Bridle flew a balloon from the roof of Bold Tendencies, a multi-storey car park and art space in Peckham, South London. Attached to the balloon were a variety of payloads, from darknet routers to aerial cameras, with the results of its experiments shared publicly and online.

The installation included 3 large grain silos weighed down by over 1500 sandbags and a wooden platforming linkin the silos together.

Walkers of Whitehall - Pub refubishment

Westminster’s all day pub is situated conveniently in the heart of Trafalgar Square and on Whitehall. It provides a vibrant and fresh social hub, which blends the old and new seamlessly. Walkers of Whitehall retains its character by integrating the original vaulted basement ceilings from its former life as a bank marrying them into a modern offering of elegant banquette seating, open theatre-style kitchen and impressive lighting & decor.

Handy Heroes undertook a complete refurbishment of the pub when under new management including dining areas, bar, kitchen and toilets

Franks Cafe - Pop up bar

Since 2009 Frank’s Cafe has been an integral part of the summer season. Designed by Practice Architecture it was Bold Tendencies’ first architecture project, aimed to be a place to sit and refresh.

The project included the annual errection of the canopy, improvements to the drainage and fat filtration, a new cooking facility and the addition of new bespoke furniture

Waterloo Library - Flexible workspace

In collaboration with IF_DO & Meanwhile Space CIC, in partnership with Lambeth Council, Handy Heroes constructed a new mixed-use creative business hub on Lower Marsh, a lively street bordering Waterloo railway station. The hub comprises a co-working space, an office for Waterloo Job Shop and a retail unit - 360sqm in total.

The designs iconic timber spines framed the London Eye behind and was enhance by the bespoke paintwork.
